As AbfallWirtschaftsGesellschaft mbH (AWG), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Diepholz district, we have traditionally been entrusted with waste and recycling management in the region. Around 170 employees see it as their main task to offer the people and businesses in the Diepholz district a good and reliable service. This covers waste, recyclables and pollutants, whether from private households, agriculture or commerce. With modern disposal vehicles, we reliably empty waste containers throughout the entire district. In addition, citizens have access to four large-scale recycling centers, numerous mini-recycling centers and various collection points for self-delivery of waste and recyclable materials. This waste is then treated and recycled at treatment facilities, for example directly at the Bassum waste disposal center or by selected contractual partners. In addition, a further focus of activities has emerged in recent years: alternative energy generation through biogas, wind power and photovoltaic systems.
