The African Ceremonies Charitable Foundation is dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and supporting Africa’s rich cultural heritage. Established in 2004 by Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher, our mission has been to honour the beauty, complexity, and wisdom of Africa’s diverse traditions - ensuring they are not only preserved for future generations but valued as essential to our global heritage and cultural diversity. Rooted in over five decades of immersive fieldwork across the continent, the foundation continues to build a growing archive of photography, film, oral history, and community-led storytelling. This work is guided by a deep respect for the people and cultures we collaborate with, and a belief that traditional knowledge and ritual are essential threads in the fabric of human understanding. We are committed to making these cultural expressions visible, valued, and celebrated on the global stage—amplifying voices, protecting heritage, and keeping traditions alive.
