Akar Global Initiatives is a non-profit organization which is established to develop and empower people potency in order to create societies with several values: critic, independent, democratic, and social equity. As an advocation organization, main tasks of Akar are doing research, monitoring with participatory approach, case investigating, and initiating campaigns to improve public awareness using empowerment agendas. Akar was created on 12 July 2002, then, legalized in 2006 based on the notarial letter of Is Haryati, S. H. Number 32 ON 8 September 2006. Also, It is registered at the National Unity and Political Affairs Agency of Bengkulu Province with Number 200/806/III/KBPM.
