Allegany Rescue & EMS (AREMS) is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under IRS rule 501(c)(3). We serve the Allegany, NY community and surrounding area by providing top quality pre-hospital emergency care. Prior to 2011 the ambulance service was part of the Allegany Fire Department. Since our incorporation in November 2010, we have operated as an independent entity (though we do share members). We operate on a 100% volunteer basis. We are a billing agency and fund our ambulances, medical supplies, personal protection equipment, and other operating expenses through billing, grants and donations. We do not receive any tax remuneration.
