Almenkerk Wine Estate, nestled in South Africa's cool-climate Elgin region, is a family-owned winery dedicated to crafting precise, elegant wines with personality. Founded by Joris and Natalie van Almenkerk, our estate harmoniously blends Belgian heritage with the vibrant terroir of South Africa's coolest wine region, just 14 km from the Atlantic Ocean. With meticulous vineyard management and regenerative farming at our core, Almenkerk cultivates standout Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot. Our modern cellar, inspired by traditional Flemish architecture, combines contemporary winemaking techniques with classical methods, resulting in wines that are fresh, nuanced, and distinctively Elgin. We also offer contract winemaking (custom crush) services and create private label wines, collaborating closely with our clients to produce wines tailored to their specific needs. Additionally, our cellar produces premium-quality craft cider, available for private labelling or as a branded collaboration. At Almenkerk, sustainability and regenerative farming are key principles. Our vineyards benefit from meticulous care and thoughtful practices that protect the environment. The estate features a stunning tasting room overlooking vineyards and mountains, scenic hiking trails within the UNESCO-protected Kogelberg Nature Reserve, and genuine hospitality from our passionate team. Whether visiting for a relaxed tasting, exploring the trails, or joining our exclusive Almenkerk Masters Club, you'll experience a warm welcome and unforgettable wine. Almenkerk invites visitors, wine enthusiasts, and trade partners alike to discover our commitment to excellence, craftsmanship, and convivial community spirit.
