At AlphaCore, we employ an innovative asset allocation philosophy. While traditional allocations to stocks, bonds, and real estate serve an important purpose, we believe alternative investments should also be incorporated in order to properly diversify a portfolio. Historically, having a large allocation to traditional, long-only asset classes, primarily made up of equities and bonds, was considered the necessary ingredient to forming a well-diversified portfolio. Today, however, the markets have become both increasingly correlated and recent moves in equities and interest rates have become exhausted. As financial advisors, adding alternative investments in a prudent manner can help to provide the proper diversification needed in the decades to come.
