For 15 years, ALT CITIZEN, the independent music publication, live show promoter, and zine, has been a pioneer in uplifting, inspiring, and keeping alive New York City underground music, its community, and story. Established in 2010, ALT CITIZEN’s roots stem from those of music journalism’s heyday – music discovery through tangible media, on-the-ground live show reports, authentic taste-making, au fait curation of bills, show roundups, and new music lists, amongst more – and continues to maintain its status as a clocker of legends and respected platform that understands music, shares good music, and supports the passion of musicians that we too are fueled by every day.
