What is Art of Movement? Art of Movement, a studio for movement training, was established in 2004 by Stephanny Turton Kat and now has four full time professional and enthusiastic teachers. The studio is housed in the unique Old School Projects building designed by Dudok, located in Hilversum. The two former, beautiful light classrooms accommodate various types of classes. The training methods offered are based upon the Pilates program supplemented with specialist techniques. The trainers from Art of Movement work directly on physical complaints, including the back, neck and shoulders, pelvis, hands and feet. Prevention and correction are central to our work. Clients prize our professionalism and personal attention. Our Mission Art of Movement’s mission is to make its clients aware of how they move. From this awareness, people can get rid of bad habits and work on new ways of moving that helps each person feel physically and mentally better. What do we do? Art of Movement uses the Pilates method and other techniques to strengthen the link between mind and body. Your physical and mental strength and mental awareness are improved. The links that exist between movement, mind and body are undeniable. There’s a reason that we say for example ‘we hang our head’, it’s a mind body thing. During your sessions the trainers from Art of Movement will observe how you move and what makes you move. Using this information we design a training schedule for you. Your personal set of restorative and strength improvement exercises are geared towards rehabilitation and/or workout. Art of Movement works together with a small group of professionals.
