Benguela Cove, a stunning wine estate in Walker Bay, Hermanus, is renowned for its beauty and ranked among the World's Best Vineyards. Located in the second most popular destination after Cape Town, it benefits from a cool climate, perfect for growing vines, thanks to its proximity to the ocean. The 220-hectare estate includes 70 hectares of vineyards and 10 hectares of olive groves. As South Africa’s lowest-density residential estate, it offers owners the unique opportunity to live between the ocean and vineyards. Benguela Cove is a leading wine tourism destination, offering vineyard safaris, wine blending, and a range of family-friendly activities such as restaurants, a tasting room, a gallery, and adventure golf. Known for its “sexiest cellar,” adorned with crystal chandeliers, the winery, designed by owner Penny Streeter OBE, combines modern technology with traditional equipment dating back centuries. Dubbed a "test tube winery," Benguela Cove conducts annual research and shares its findings with students. Producing 650 tons of wine annually, the estate boasts a distinctive maritime influence and a diverse range of wines due to its unique soils and slopes. The wines, all estate-grown, showcase complexity and variety. The Lighthouse Collection offers vibrant, fruity wines with softer tannins, while the Estate Range features structured wines with longer barrel aging. Both ranges maintain high quality, differing only in style. Benguela Cove exports its wines globally, with key markets in China, the USA, the UK, Belgium, and Holland. Additionally, the estate offers luxury, secure accommodation for those seeking an ultra-luxurious experience amidst its breathtaking surroundings. Cellarmaster Johann Fourie
