This situation highlighted the importance of creating a network that could support them and help them rebuild their lives in new environments. In recognition of this impactful work, Edward Edilbi, the founder of Dubarah, was awarded the prestigious Ashoka Fellowship, becoming the first Syrian to receive this global honor. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) in the United Kingdom.
