Founded in 1998 after designing a feathered cloche to hide a bad haircut, Eugenia Kim caught the attention of the NYC downtown scene with her innovative hat designs. After Barneys New York placed their first order in the same month that JLo wore the now infamous camel felt floppy hat with a gold chain to the VMAs, her brand was born and rocketed to instant success. In reaction to the early 90s minimalist trend, the trend in the late 90s became all about accessories.
