About Amanda After the birth of my first child I became a birth and yoga enthusiast. I changed careers and pursued cultivating my skills as a body-worker, taking advanced classes from the masterful teachers at the Acupressure Institute and at YogaKula Berkeley. Two things drew me to deepening my study and practice of yoga: The embodied consciousness I cultivated through attending prenatal yoga classes and my Anusara yoga teachers. These teachers helped take my class practice to a physical, spiritual, and emotional level infusing the practice of the asanas with the knowledge and thought provoking themes they incorporated. After taking the Anusara teacher training at Yoga Kula with Noah Maze and Sianna Sherman in 2007, I began applying the therapeutic alignment principles and practical adjustment skills to my acupressure clients and started teaching regular yoga classes. I have taught in health centers, gyms, and yoga studios. I completed a restorative yoga teacher training with Judith Lasater, a yoga mentorship with Abby Tucker, and an Anusara Prenatal Yoga teacher training with Jessica Jennings. Today I continue to work with communities needing access to healing services through the YMCA as well as in my private practice. I am committed to offering quality bodywork that works to restore our energy and living systems to their optimal harmonious states.
