Murrindindi Shire Council is “surprisingly close” to Melbourne. It extends from the peri-urban communities of the Kinglake Ranges through to the rural townships of Yea, Alexandra and Eildon and the communities around Marysville. We have a diverse rural environment with mountains, pristine rivers, lakes and waterways, and National Parks. Our townships offer a diverse range of attractions including, retail, hospitality and tourism. Our communities retain their rural character and charm but also embrace the new, and rate high on lifestyle indicators of clean air, safety, high levels of volunteering, access to nature. Part of our employee value proposition is “Love where you live, work where you love”, encapsulating the best of great job opportunities combined with a great lifestyle. Our 2030 Vision is "We are sustainable, vibrant and resilient. We focus on growing our business opportunities. Our communities are safe and connected, enjoying a healthy and productive lifestyle within our wonderful natural environment." Our organisation has a vibrant Council and a new CEO committed to ensuring we are a sector leading organisation delivering sustainable services to our community. Well-governed and with a sound financial position, Council is overhauling a number of systems including our Customer First project which will improve all aspects of our customer interaction, progressing our strong Community engagement program and building our Tourism and business development outcomes.
