We created this professional association to provide affordable, CHILD-CENTERED legal & case management services to children & families. The best interest of your children is paramount at My Child Advocate. We think of your child as our own. In family custody disputes – parents, caregivers, & even the courts – often lose sight of the best interests of the child. My Child Advocate helps RETURN THE FOCUS TO THE CHILD through legal representation, guardian ad litem, & case management appointments. MCA is built on a foundation of trust & understanding. We work with changing families as they navigate the court system while always keeping the well-being of children as our main priority. ► LEGAL SERVICES My Child Advocate provides CHILD-FOCUSED legal representation to children, parents, caregivers, & others who are interested in keeping the focus on the child. Children can be the center of various forms of custody disputes such as: • Child in Need of Care (CINC) • Paternity • Post-Divorce Custody • Third Party Visitation • Guardianship • Adoption Proceedings ► ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION • Case Management - a service created by Kansas statute & designed to address issues in high conflict cases • Mediation - a confidential process where a neutral third party assists the parties as they discuss & try to resolve their dispute(s) • Parent Coordination – a neutral third party appointed by the Court to assist the parties in implementing the provisions of their parenting plan • Conciliation - similar to mediation in that a neutral third party will assist the parties as they discuss & try to resolve their dispute(s) • Guardian ad Litem- in the state of Kansas, a Guardian ad Litem (GAL), is an attorney appointed by the Court to represent & advocate for the best interests of the minor child(ren)
