The National Network for the Education of Care Leavers (NNECL) is the largest independent organisation supporting colleges and universities to create inclusive environments where care leavers, children in care, and estranged young people can thrive. Founded in 2013, we bring the sector together to improve progression into, through, and beyond further and higher education. Through collaboration, specialist resources, and policy influence, we champion continuous improvement in practice, multi-agency partnerships, and national approaches that support care-experienced and estranged learners. Our Quality Mark, recognised by the Department for Education, acts as a lever for change, and as an award-winning charity, we drive innovation and best practice across the sector. Through our membership, we reach over 5,000 students and provide colleges and universities with expert guidance, practical resources, events, and networking opportunities. We also welcome organisations and individuals who support our work through funding or partnerships, helping us extend our reach and impact for care leavers and estranged students across the UK.
