We are an active, campaigning organisation seeking to improve the pay and conditions of our members and working to protect and promote media freedom, professionalism and ethical standards. NUJ members work across the media – as staffers and freelances, writers and reporters, editors and sub-editors, photographers and illustrators. Members work in broadcasting, newspapers, magazines, books, in public relations and in a variety of new media. Founded in 1907, the NUJ is among the biggest journalists' unions in the world.
