The New Zealand Underwriting Agencies Council (NZUAC) is the representative body for underwriting agencies (UA’s) across Aotearoa, sometimes referred to as managing general agents (MGAs) in other countries. We bring together all types of UA’s from independent Kiwi specialists to broker-owned agencies and global MGAs to provide a professional united voice for the sector. NZUAC exists to ensure that underwriting agencies with their unique blend of strong insurer backing and expert local underwriting have a dedicated voice. Like other representative bodies that support their sector in the market, NZUAC ensures that underwriting agencies are represented clearly and professionally. Together these perspectives strengthen the wider insurance ecosystem. We are committed to raising professional standards, supporting brokers and advancing delegated authority in New Zealand. Through advocacy, education, industry events and best practice initiatives we provide a credible platform for collaboration across the MGA community and more broadly across all parts of insurance.
