A property with a purpose From its inception, O’Leleshwa Retreat has been more than just a luxury escape—it’s a catalyst for local empowerment. A large portion of the building team comprised unskilled and inexperienced youth from neighbouring communities. Throughout the construction process, these individuals learned valuable building skills, site management, and professional work methodologies. This commitment to capacity building extends beyond the build. Selected youth are now part of upskilling and educational programmes, including a dedicated vocational hospitality and property maintenance training initiative. The goal: to equip as many local young people as possible with skills they can take to the wider Kenyan job market, fostering both individual opportunity and community growth.
