Who We Are OJAL Art Incorporated, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in California, has been publishing since 2017 as OPEN: Journal of Arts & Letters (O:JA&L) and its imprint Buttonhook Press. O:JA&L is a multi-platform arts journal that is available online through most hand-held devices. O:JA&L features new content published continually on its website and free PDF chapbook collections, PDF pamphlets, and PDF broadside editions. O:JA&L also publishes an interview series featuring prominent writers and artists, as well as dramatic interpretations of our journal content available through a dedicated YouTube channel. On behalf of OJAL Art Incorporated, O:JA&L/Buttonhook Press has adopted an eclectic aesthetic to satisfy our audience’s demand for freshness and variety. Arresting art and writing of nearly every stamp and style are displayed on our site. A wide range of aesthetic convictions is explored in detail in our interview series and in our series of craft essays.
