Paws on the Street is a 501(c)(3) accredited nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting homeless individuals by providing essential care and resources for their pets. Founded on compassion and community, our mission is to ensure that no animal goes hungry or lacks access to medical care while strengthening the bond between people and their pets during times of hardship. Based in Austin, Texas, we partner with local organizations, volunteers, and compassionate neighbors to provide food, medical care, and supplies for pets of individuals experiencing homelessness. We believe in the transformative power of the human-animal bond and are committed to offering support that uplifts both people and their furry companions. At Paws on the Street, every donation goes directly toward serving the pets and their owners, helping to cover food, supplements, veterinary care, and basic needs. While we have operational expenses such as legal fees, accounting, and storage, our all-volunteer team ensures that every dollar spent reflects our unwavering commitment to the cause. Our programs are built on collaboration. We work closely with partners like Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center to expand access to vital services. Together, we provide hope, dignity, and care to Austin’s most vulnerable residents—human and animal alike. Join us in our mission to make a difference. Whether you’re looking to volunteer, donate, or partner with us, your support can help create lasting change for pets and their people. Together, we can ensure no pet—and no person—is left behind.
