The Project Earth Team is an award winning organization taking action to reduce the community’s carbon footprint through education and advocacy in order to combat the climate crisis. Projects: • No Idling: educating Lafayette residents to not idle their cars because it unnecessarily harms our environment, is dangerous for people’s health, and it also costs drivers extra money. With this project, the Project Earth Team has created a No-Idling Resolution passed by their city, implemented permanent no-idling signs at 6 locations and educated the public. • LAFSD Sustainability: being part of the Lafayette School District Sustainability Advisory Committee and helping create a comprehensive initiative designed to address the pressing need for environmental stewardship in our schools. • Bike/Walk Lanes: helping increase safety and decrease carbon emissions by showing support for local bike and walk lanes. Worked with Burton Safely to pass pilot bike and walk lanes program near local schools. • Plastics: aiming to reduce the community’s reliance on single-use plastics, which are made from fossil fuels and never degrade • MCE Deep Green: promoting solar and wind power for Lamorinda homes to reduce use of fossil fuels - call to enroll at (888) 632-3674
