Our mission is to improve the lives of people with gynaecological cancers by leading innovative research. The Queensland Centre for Gynaecological Cancer Research (QCGC Research) advances care through clinical trials, collaborative studies, and translational research. Based at The University of Queensland, our team works to prevent cancer, improve early detection and diagnosis, and develop safer, more effective treatments for ovarian, endometrial, cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers. For more than two decades, QCGC Research has led research that challenges outdated practices and helps establish new standards of care. Our work focuses on unmet patient needs, rapidly translating laboratory discoveries into tangible benefits and improved health outcomes. Our multidisciplinary team includes clinicians, scientists, data specialists, clinical research professionals, and consumer advocates who collaborate with hospitals, universities and international partners to accelerate progress in women’s cancer research. Supported by competitive grants, philanthropic funding and community fundraising, we are committed to ensuring women not only survive gynaecological cancer—but live well after treatment. ALIVE WELL is the National Health and Medical Research Council-funded Centre of Research Excellence (CRE), led by QCGC Research. The ALIVE WELL CRE is dedicated to improving the quality of life, survival, and care for patients with gynaecological cancer. The program focuses on three main priorities: enabling fertility after endometrial cancer, reducing lymphoedema incidence, and enhancing recovery from cancer.
