The SailCom cooperative was founded in 1998, after the first boats had already been shared since 1991 as part of the car sharing organisation Mobility (formerly ShareCom). Boats are available almost everywhere in Switzerland. The approximately 2500 SailCom members have a fleet of about 70 boats at their disposal, ranging from dinghies to 30-foot cruising yachts and even a trimaran (three-hulled boat).
