Oscar Wilde “After a good dinner one can forgive anybody, even one's own relations.” Bob Marley "One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” The artistic soul of a community should be reflected in the way it facilitates for its leisure time and cares for its surroundings. We have always had a passion for food and music. This has seen us successfully involved in producing concerts and tours around the world, to organising secret foodie events. We enjoy the escapism both worlds create and the joy it allows people to share. Soul Mama is a live music venue and restaurant founded by YolanDa Brown OBE DL and Adetokunbo “T” Oyelola. It was created to bring together great food, powerful live music and genuine community in one space. The concept blends a warm, soulful atmosphere with an eclectic cultural programme spanning jazz, soul, reggae, comedy, conversations, brunches and special events. Alongside the music, Soul Mama serves a menu inspired by the flavours of Africa, the Caribbean and South America, with cocktails and a strong focus on hospitality. The first Soul Mama venue launched at the Hilton Gantry Hotel in Stratford, East London and the vision is much bigger than one site, with Angel Central and Westfield Stratford launching imminently. Soul Mama is being built as a cultural hospitality brand with ambitions to expand into multiple venues, creating spaces where people can connect through music, food and shared experiences. What makes Soul Mama distinct is that it is not just a restaurant and not just a music venue. It is designed as a home for artists, audiences and communities to come together in a way that feels uplifting, inclusive and full of life.
