For years we imported. English gins, German bitters, French de-alcoholised wines. And we asked ourselves: why? Why should Italy — the country that invented the aperitif, that turned drinking into a social ritual — simply resell what others had come up with? In the summer of 2023, we stopped asking questions and started doing something. We took what we’d learnt from importing the best European products, and turned it on its head. Zemei Drinks was born. The first Italian brand of non-alcoholic spirits designed from scratch for the palate of this country. Not an adaptation. Not a clone. An original creation. Aperitifs, bitters, gin, and much more. Five products (to date). Zero alcohol. One hundred per cent Italian in method, taste and concept. We won’t tell you that ‘you won’t taste the difference’.
