Sports Without Boundaries (SWB) is a federally incorporated nonprofit organization dedicated to making sports accessible, inclusive, and empowering for youth ages 5 to 18—especially those from BIPOC, newcomer, and low-income communities. Founded by Gode Katembo, who discovered healing and purpose through sports, SWB began as a grassroots initiative and has grown into a movement that has reached over 700 children across Winnipeg. We use sports as a vehicle to foster leadership, community belonging, and life skills, with a focus on equity and positive youth development. Our programs go beyond just play—we design initiatives that prioritize mentorship, mental wellness, teamwork, and social inclusion. From free-to-play leagues to holiday camps and youth leadership workshops, we aim to ensure every child can participate, grow, and thrive. Our Programs Include: Ball 4 All: Basketball access for all skill levels Spring & Winter Break Camps Beyond Sports: Life skills through creative play Community Events that uplift families and neighbourhoods. At SWB, we believe that when kids play, communities win.
