STAR Sponsorship Program, Inc. was founded in 1993 with a vision that education is a powerful catalyst for change. For over 30 years, STAR has been committed to enhancing the well-being and opportunities of economically disadvantaged elementary-school students in Tarrant County. Our program provides partial tuition scholarships, mentorship, and access to a network of enrichment opportunities, easing financial burdens while helping children rise above their circumstances. STAR’s model emphasizes high parent engagement and student accountability, guiding students from their early school years toward both immediate and long-term success. The impact speaks for itself: the overwhelming majority of STAR alumni are thriving—graduating from high school, pursuing college degrees, earning postgraduate credentials, and stepping into professional roles. Many return to the community as leaders and entrepreneurs, continuing the cycle of growth and opportunity. With nearly $20 million in partnership funding generated by donors, schools, and families, STAR has grown steadily and aims to reach 250 students in the coming years. By nurturing potential and supporting every step of a child’s educational journey, STAR continues to brighten futures and strengthen our community.
