The Stark County Minority Business Association (SCMBA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing economic growth by supporting local businesses in Stark County and beyond. Since 2008, SCMBA has worked to strengthen collaboration, communication, and opportunities among entrepreneurs and the broader business community. SCMBA provides resources, referrals, and business development support to help minority businesses grow, build partnerships, and access new opportunities. SCMBA proudly hosts the Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC – Tier 1) for the Akron Region, offering technical assistance, certification support, and access to capital for minority entrepreneurs. In addition, SCMBA leads the Kirk Schuring Business Development Project, which includes the Business Development Center, Marketplace on 10th, and Innovation Hub, creating pathways for business growth, collaboration, and innovation.
