Sumaya Biotech is a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company fully dedicated to the development of Malaria vaccines and therapies. Founded as a spin out of Heidelberg University in 2015, it has become the home to a dedicated core team combining decades of experience in parasitology and infectious deseases with seasoned biotech management. Originally privately financed by our scientific founder, the late Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c Hermann Bujard, our concept was recently endorsed by substantial funding through the EU Malaria Fund. We are committed to producing safe, potent and cost effective vaccines and therapies to tackle Malaria, still one of the largest world health issues and an also economic curse to tropical and subtropical regions.
