Tacklebox Architecture is an award-winning design firm with a portfolio that includes residential, retail, furniture, and interior design projects for brands such as Aesop, Claus Porto, Converse, Ninety Plus Coffee, Pepsi, % Arabica, Saipua, Vena Cava, Shipley & Halmos, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Kenneth Cole, Shinsegae, and Owen. Founded by the Architect Jeremy Barbour in 2006, Tacklebox Architecture is known for collaborating with emerging and established brands alike to create distinguished spaces that are unique to each brand's identity. With a reputation for using inexpensive, often reclaimed, materials in an unexpected way and by working with honest, skilled crafts-persons, Tacklebox Architecture has helped many clients develop elegant design solutions while meeting the rigorous constraints defined by the schedule and budget for each project. Though the design process continually evolves with the various constraints unique to each project, our work has at its core three principals: engage the client in the design process, the creative [mis]use of materials, and collaboration. It is our hope that through the continual calibration of this design process, we may resist the tendency towards the preconceived idea and continue to work with our clients to develop environments that foster a sense of timelessness and provide a richness in which we dwell. The work of Tacklebox has received multiple awards and has been featured in over 100 publications. In 2010, Tacklebox Architecture was among 7 firms selected as a recipient of AIANY's New Practices New York Award, a biennial competition that recognizes the best new architecture firms in NYC and In 2018 Tacklebox was named in the Architect's Newspaper's Top 50 Interior Architecture firms
