Tallawah is a youth led nonprofit dedicated to strengthening disaster relief and long term community resilience across Jamaica. Formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, our mission is to provide direct, transparent support to families and communities recovering from severe storm impacts. We focus on the essentials that help people regain stability and dignity after a disaster. Our current efforts include distributing tarpaulins for temporary shelter, restoring connectivity through Starlink systems and charging stations, and supporting clean water access in affected communities. Tallawah’s work currently centers on the hardest hit areas of St. James and Trelawny, where many families are still rebuilding their lives. We collaborate closely with trusted local partners to ensure that every resource we provide reaches the people who need it most, quickly and reliably. Our vision is a stronger, more resilient Jamaica where communities can recover faster, remain connected, and feel supported through every stage of disaster response and rebuilding.
