Texas Mental Health Resources is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, dedicated to providing support and financial assistance to those individuals challenged with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety, and other mental health illnesses. The organization helps establish community support groups, raises financial resources to offset high and rising medical care and medication costs, writes curriculum for and conducts mental health support workshops, deploys volunteers to check in on at-risk individuals, and serves as an advocate and educator for mental health issues with agencies across the state of Texas. TXMHR's founder and president, Donovan Fredricksen, has not simply heard about mental illness, but has lived in the shadow of its grip. He is currently writing a book entitled "Surviving the Storm," chronicling his family's 20-year encounter with his wife, Kelli's debilitating struggle with treatment resistant Bipolar 1 Disorder.
