At The Bike Project, we refurbish secondhand bikes and donate them to refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK. Since 2013, we have given supported over 14,000 people with bikes. With a bike, a person can access vital services such as healthcare and legal advice, as well as having a link to their local community. We also run engagement programmes like Pedal Power, free cycling lessons for refugee women led by refugee women; and Bike Buddies, a befriending programme to match volunteers with bike recipients.
