The Mahjong Society is a Chicago-based company offering modern, social experiences centered around the game of American mahjong. We specialize in private lessons, immersive workshops, and pop-up events that bring people together through play, conversation, and a shared love of tradition. Founded in 2023, our mission is to make mahjong approachable, stylish, and inclusive—whether you're brand new to the game or looking to deepen your skills. We partner with local businesses, brands, and venues to host vibrant events across the Midwest, and our growing team of instructors is dedicated to building a welcoming community of players. In 2025, our founder authored a forthcoming book on American mahjong ("Play Mahjong"), blending step-by-step instruction with cultural storytelling and community insight. From private parties and corporate gatherings to bachelorette celebrations and book clubs, we create moments of joy and connection that last far beyond the last tile. 🀄 Private & group lessons 🀄 Monthly public events 🀄 Brand & venue partnerships 🀄 Instructional resources & publishing
