Job description
The staff pharmacist interprets, compounds, and dispenses medications and other pharmaceutical supplies, using standard physical and chemical procedures to fill prescriptions entered or issued by physicians, and other qualified prescribers. Provides drug information to physicians, other professional personnel, patients and their families, and/or significant others.
Supervises and checks the work of pharmacy technicians, interns, and students. Monitors drug profiles for contraindications, incompatibilities, and allergic and dosing errors, and documents interventions as required by the Pharmacy Department’s Performance Improvement Plan.
