Designer – Custom Furniture & Interior Layouts

Job Title: Designer – Custom Furniture & Interior Layouts Location: Nairobi Key Responsibilities Office & Layout Design

• Propose and recommend functional office planning and furniture layouts based on client briefs Custom Drawings
• Produce accurate, detailed drawings for customized furniture and interior solutions for client presentations and manufacturing, in coordination with the sales team Cutting Lists
• Prepare cutting lists for all customized designs Costing
• Prepare costing sheets for all customized designs Concept Development
• Develop creative design concepts, graphics, and layouts that align with project goals Client Briefing
• Brief and advise sales consultants and clients on design proposals, formats, production processes, and timelines Layout Review
• Review final layouts and suggest improvements where necessary Reports
• Prepare and submit daily reports as required Documentation
• Maintain organized filing of all design documents and drawings Requirements Academic Qualifications
• KCSE: KCSE Grade B– or higher
• Degree/Diploma: Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Product Design, or Architecture
• Technical Proficiency: Design Software Skilled in Sketch. Up, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, In. Design)
• Rendering Software: Familiarity with 3D rendering tools such as Lumion, Revit, or V-Ray (added advantage)
• Costing & Quoting: Competence in basic costing and quotation preparation for customized items Experience
• Industry Background: 2–4 years in a similar role within a furniture manufacturing, interior design, or architectural firm
• Custom Design Experience: Experience in custom product design or furniture layout planning is highly desirable Soft Skills
• Creativity: Strong creative thinking and concept development abilities
• Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Time Management: Strong time management and reporting discipline
