Fundraising & Partnerships Specialist | Health & Education | Sandton Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and driven Fundraising & Partnerships Specialist for a respected luxury travel company based in Sandton. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic fundraising professional with a proven track record of securing significant donor funding and building long-term partnerships within the health, education and community development sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving fundraising initiatives that support impactful programmes across underserved communities in South Africa. Location: Sandton, Johannesburg Salary: Negotiable depending on experience Role Overview Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Fundraising & Partnerships Specialist will be responsible for identifying, cultivating and managing strategic donor relationships while securing funding from private, public and corporate donors.

This role requires a highly organised, results-driven individual with exceptional proposal writing, stakeholder engagement and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Partnership Development

  • Identify and cultivate new donor and funding opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with private, corporate and institutional donors
  • Build and manage a sustainable fundraising pipeline
  • Develop compelling funding proposals and partnership presentations
  • Drive fundraising strategies to achieve ambitious revenue targets Proposal Development & Grant Writing
  • Research prospective donors and funding opportunities
  • Draft, edit and submit high-quality grant proposals and funding applications
  • Prepare persuasive reports, concept notes and donor communications
  • Ensure all proposals align with organisational objectives and donor priorities Budgeting & Financial Alignment
  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to prepare detailed project budgets
  • Ensure funding proposals accurately reflect project activities, timelines and resource requirements
  • Monitor budget alignment and donor funding allocations Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
  • Assist in the development of project monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Support the creation of Theories of Change, Log Frames and impact measurement tools
  • Prepare donor reports and partnership performance updates
  • Present fundraising and partnership reports to senior leadership and board members Research & Analytics
  • Maintain and expand a database of local and international donors
  • Track philanthropic trends and emerging funding opportunities
  • Analyse fundraising performance and provide strategic recommendations Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with organisational policies and donor requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality and appropriate data management practices
  • Monitor grant compliance and reporting obligations Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Honours Degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in fundraising, grant writing or proposal development
  • Proven success in securing substantial donor funding
  • Strong network within South Africa's health, education and development sectors
  • Experience managing multiple donor relationships simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of donor compliance requirements and reporting standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Strong financial literacy and budget management skills
  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting Key Competencies
