HVAC Startup Technician - Commercial

Large and established commercial HVAC contractor serving the Greater Houston area is seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Start-Up Technician to join the team. This role is critical to our operation, as the technician will be responsible for equipment start-ups, system commissioning, and ensuring all installations are completed to set standards.

• Comprehensive experience on commercial HVAC equipment needed - start-ups and commissioning (RTUs, splits, mini splits, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation manuals
• Solid troubleshooting skills & attention to detail / pride in workmanship
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and sense of ownership
• Professional communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating with our install and service teams
• Provide technical support and training to facility managers or end-users on system operation
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Requirements

3 or more years of experience in commercial HVAC service or installation with solid exposure to startups and the ability to perform the process correctly the first time using the recommended steps and ensuring all equipment is operating per manufacturer specifications Technical Skills: Strong understanding of commercial HVAC, refrigeration cycles, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC control sequences.

Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
