Job description

Staff Accountant Location: Broomall, PA Onsite (full-time) Compensation: $65,000 – $75,000 Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This role is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, including the Controller and CFO, on a variety of accounting and financial functions.

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and ensuring the overall integrity of the organization’s financial data.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Apply GAAP principles to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage adjusting entries, depreciation, and amortization schedules.
  • General Ledger Management
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded. Reconciliations
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations regularly.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. Compliance & Controls
  • Manage state permits and sales tax registrations.
  • Assist with filing monthly sales tax returns.
  • Stay current on changes in accounting and tax laws. Additional Responsibilities
  • Prepare commission schedules for the sales team.
  • Support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory checks and adjustments.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and provide financial analysis as requested.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (preferred) or equivalent experience. - 3–5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial accounting principles.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of job costing concepts (preferred).
  • Understanding of relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial data with discretion.
