HEAD OF FINANCE R 1.1M pa

  • BRACKENFELL, CPT This large family-owned multipurpose business is a leading player in their sector, operating across five entities and looking for a Finance Manager / Head of Finance to lead their finance team and drive excellence across reporting, compliance, and strategy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management & Reporting Oversee and manage the finance function across all entities (5+ companies). Prepare and review monthly management accounts with commentary for executive decision-making. Develop, monitor, and implement financial objectives aligned with the group’s growth targets. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records.

Compliance & Governance Calculate, prepare, and submit VAT returns, provisional tax, and other statutory submissions to SARS. Manage and coordinate the annual audit process across all companies. Ensure compliance with IFRS and local regulations. Leadership & Team Management Lead and mentor a finance team, including accountants and support staff.

Build capability within the team, improving systems, processes, and controls. Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Strategic Input Partner with the leadership team to provide financial insights and guidance. Contribute to business planning, forecasting, and cashflow management. Support operational decision-making with accurate financial data.

Requirements

Chartered Accountant CA(SA) strongly preferred. Minimum 5–8 years of finance management experience, ideally in a multi-entity group. Experience in manufacturing, logistics, transport, or related industries advantageous. Strong knowledge of tax, VAT, and audit requirements. Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
