JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Obstetrics & Gynecology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Paducah, KY Service Setting: Inpatient Coverage Type: Clinical + Call Shift Schedule: 7a-7a (24-hour call), 6-7 shifts per month Call Type: In-House, Beeper/Phone Call Reason for Coverage: EMTALA Call Coverage Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Average Daily Volume: 1-6 patients per day Case Mix: Obstetrics, including vaginal deliveries, C-sections, VBACs, etc.
FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Hospital Labor and Delivery equipment PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Temporary Privileges Available: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 90 days (can be expedited) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Routine Delivery – Vaginal, Low Forceps Decision-Making for C-Section Complicated Delivery – C-Section, Breech, Multiple Births, Abruptions, etc.
VBAC’s Repair of 3rd & 4th Degree Lacerations JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) Licenses: Active KY license or Universal License (IMLC) DEA: Active DEA Certification Certifications: BLS Duties & Responsibilities Provide on-call coverage for OBGYN services, including EMTALA call.
Perform routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps deliveries. Make decisions and perform C-sections for complicated deliveries. Manage VBACs and repair 3rd and 4th degree lacerations. Collaborate with midwives who also take call and deliver their own patients.
