Job description
The Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness, accountability, and impact of all organizational projects, programs, and activities. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining robust M&E systems that support data-driven decision-making, continuous learning, and evidence-based program improvement.
By overseeing data collection, analysis, and reporting processes, the M&E Assistant ensures that project outcomes are accurately measured, documented, and communicated to stakeholders. The role fosters a culture of learning and performance accountability across teams, contributing directly to the organization’s mission and long-term impact.
Responsibilities
Oversee the implementation of monitoring, evaluation, and learning frameworks across all projects and activities. Provide technical guidance and support to project officers and teams on M&E methodologies and best practices. Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and accurate data collection, reporting, and performance tracking.
Design and manage project work plans, logical frameworks (log frames), and monitoring tools. Lead the development and execution of research and data collection initiatives to assess project impact. Conduct internal evaluations and quality checks on project data to ensure accuracy and reliability. Maintain and update the centralized project database to capture learning outcomes, indicators, and performance trends.
Facilitate regular reviews of project performance against baseline data and annual targets. Contribute to cross-project learning and knowledge sharing initiatives.
