Grounds Custodian Pressure Washing Crew

Annual Salary: $41,008.50 - $41,632.50 Hourly: $21.03 - $21.35 Department: Environmental Services, Public Service Division: Street Sweeping FLSA: Non-Exempt Job Description: In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and general appearance of City streets and sidewalks utilizing a pressure washer and other equipment.

Examples of Duties: Pressure washes sidewalks in the central business district during the morning hours. Drives a City vehicle and pulls a pressure washer trailer in downtown areas. Sweeps and cleans streets, sidewalks, and gutters using a rubbish collection cart, shovel and push broom. Removes debris and dirt from sewer grates and catch basins.

When necessary, shovels snow and sand. When necessary, cleans litter from vacant lots around the city. Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months of experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Valid South Carolina Driver’s License. Employees in this position are required to work and walk outdoors in downtown Charleston You must be available to work the following shift Mon.
