Technical Leadership
- Manage all PT6A overhaul, repair and inspection activities.
- Provide technical guidance on PT6A-27 and PT6A-34 maintenance.
- Review tear down findings and determine repair versus replacement strategy.
- Support troubleshooting of: o High ITT o Low torque o Compressor deterioration o Oil consumption o Vibration o Starting problems o Propeller/engine interface issues
- Liaise with Pratt & Whitney Canada and approved overhaul facilities. Reliability & Fleet Support
- Develop engine reliability monitoring program.
- Review engine trend data and identify deterioration patterns.
- Recommend maintenance actions to improve engine availability.
- Analyze repetitive defects and implement corrective actions.
- Support aircraft maintenance teams during AOG situations. Cost & Commercial Management
- Prepare annual overhaul and repair budgets.
- Review overhaul quotations and repair invoices.
- Challenge unnecessary component replacements.
- Optimize repair-versus-replace decisions.
- Develop engine maintenance cost forecasts.
- Monitor engine shop KPIs: o Cost per flight hour o Turnaround time o Shop visit cost o Repeat defects o Warranty recoveries Workshop Management
- Lead engine technicians and inspectors.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and OEM requirements.
- Maintain tooling, calibration and capability development.
- Establish repair procedures and quality standards.
- Manage vendor and overhaul shop performance.
Requirements
- 10+ years turbine engine maintenance experience.
- 5+ years in engine overhaul or repair facility management.
- Hands-on PT6A-27 and PT6A-34 overhaul and repair experience.
- Experience with: o Engine tear down and inspection o Hot Section Inspections (HSI) o Major overhaul management o Repair disposition and repair development o Trend monitoring and troubleshooting o Engine performance analysis o LLP and component life management
- Previous supervisory or management role leading technicians and planners.
- Preferred experience supporting DHC-6 Twin Otter operators.
