Job description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Strategy & Leadership Shape and implement financial strategies aligned with business goals. Advise senior management on growth, investments, and overall performance. Lead long-term planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  2. Corporate Development Secure financing for construction projects. Assess investment and expansion opportunities through feasibility studies, financial modeling, and ROI analysis. Monitor project cash flow, cost control, and profitability.
  3. Capital & Cash Flow Management Manage capital structure, liquidity, and funding needs. Oversee treasury functions, including cash flow and working capital optimization. Build strong relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions.
  4. Financial Reporting, Audit & Compliance Ensure timely, accurate financial statements in line with MFRS/IFRS standards. Oversee revenue recognition for construction contracts (percentage-of-completion method). Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations, SST, and statutory requirements. Lead audits, tax planning, and governance frameworks. Drive Bursa Malaysia listing compliance and corporate governance standards.
  5. Risk Management Identify and mitigate financial risks related to market, execution, and funding. Manage interest rates, currency, and liquidity exposures. Ensure adequate insurance and risk coverage for projects.
  6. Team Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting teams. Promote a high-performance and continuous improvement culture.
  7. Stakeholder & Investor Relations Communicate financial performance to stakeholders and investors. Support fundraising, M&A, and expansion initiatives. Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  8. Business Partnering Collaborate with department heads to support decision-making. Provide financial insights to improve operations and profitability. Report performance to senior management and the board.

Requirements

Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, MICPA, or equivalent). Senior finance leadership experience in a Bursa Malaysia-listed or equivalent public company. Proven track record in construction or related industries. Strong expertise in costing, corporate finance, FP&A, and public company reporting. Executive presence with integrity, leadership, and ability to engage effectively with boards, regulators, and external stakeholders.
