Job Summary

The Field Application Specialist (FAS) will provide technical expertise and support for spectroscopy instrumentation used in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. These systems, such as variable pathlength UV-Vis spectrophotometers, are widely applied in protein and antibody quantification during drug discovery, development, manufacturing, and quality assurance.

The role involves customer-facing activities including product demonstrations, application support, testing, troubleshooting, and training.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with customers to develop and optimize Variable Pathlength Technology and Slope Spectroscopy methods. Provide both pre- and post-sales technical support, including seminars, demonstrations, troubleshooting, training, and validation services. Plan and execute projects to address customer needs using analytical systems and spectroscopy methods.

Partner with the sales team to align technical activities with broader commercial strategies. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, project progress, and forecasts through CRM tools such as Salesforce. Gather and share insights on customer needs, market trends, and competitor activities to support product positioning and development strategies.

Deliver training on the theory and operation of spectroscopy systems. Participate in projects and assignments that contribute to professional growth and development.

Requirements

Education, Training & Experience Bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific field such as biology, biochemistry, or a related discipline. Strong technical knowledge of biomanufacturing processes and analytical technologies, particularly UV-Vis spectroscopy. Hands-on laboratory experience in bioanalytical method development; familiarity with regulatory guidelines, pharmacopoeia standards, and a background in quality control is preferred.

Experience working in a GMP-regulated setting or with GMP-focused customers, particularly in areas such as formal instrument qualification and analytical method validation, is considered an advantage.
