Job description
The Hospice Medical Director is a licensed physician (MD or DO) responsible for the overall medical management of the hospice patient care program. When unavailable, a designated hospice physician assumes these responsibilities. The Medical Director provides clinical leadership to the Hospice Interdisciplinary Group (IDG), oversees physician services, collaborates with attending physicians to ensure the palliation and management of terminal illness and related conditions, and addresses patients' general medical needs.
The Medical Director also serves as the hospice's clinical representative to physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, medical schools, and other community partners. This position reports to the Director of Hospice.
