Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter Pay Range: $40-55/hour Job Description: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter | Federal Way, WA | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for a school-based position in Federal Way, Washington for the 2026–2027 school year .

Position Highlights Location: Federal Way, WA Position: American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday Setting: In-person, school-based School Year: 2026 – 2027 Responsibilities Provide sign language interpreting services for students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate Interpret classroom instruction, school activities, meetings, and other educational events Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics and standards of practice Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success Promote student independence while ensuring equal access to instruction and school activities Participate in team meetings and professional development as appropriate Qualifications Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score meeting Washington State requirements, or equivalent qualification Valid Washington State Educational Staff Associate (ESA) Certificate (or eligibility to obtain one, if required) Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills School-based interpreting experience preferred, but qualified candidates from other settings are encouraged to apply Benefits* Competitive compensation Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid sick leave CEU and professional development reimbursement (where applicable) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Dedicated recruiter and ongoing support throughout your assignment Therapist-founded and therapist-led company culture *Benefits are available to eligible full-time employees and are subject to plan terms and eligibility requirements.
