Overview
of the Role The HR Lead will act as the primary HR partner for Japan, supporting a rapidly growing global pharma-technology organization. This stand-alone position is ideal for a strategic, hands-on HR generalist with strong recruitment and stakeholder management skills. The role oversees the full employee lifecycle, partners with global HR teams, and drives local people initiatives to support a high-performance and collaborative culture.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the main HR point of contact in Japan, overseeing all local HR operations and initiatives. Partner with global HR and leadership teams to align the Japan people strategy with business goals. Lead end-to-end talent acquisition, including sourcing, selection, and onboarding. Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
Manage HR processes such as compensation cycles, policy updates, engagement activities, and workforce planning. Ensure compliance with Japan labor laws and maintain accurate HR documentation. Support leaders with coaching, data insights, and strategic workforce decisions. Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-impact working environment.
Requirements
Requirements Strong experience as an HR Generalist or HR Lead supporting Japan operations. Proven success in talent acquisition and managing diverse stakeholders. Ability to operate independently in a stand-alone role while collaborating with global teams. Fluent in Japanese and English (spoken and written). Strong knowledge of Japan labor law and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced, multicultural environment.
