Role Summary We are currently looking for an experienced Analyst – Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”), Japan to join us on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing team and get hands-on experience within a fast-paced, results focused, global organisation. The successful candidate will have some experience in all stages of a debt capital markets transaction and will have an active role in a client facing team. This includes having exposure to a working in a fast-moving industry, where the scope of work will cover the wide range of a financing business line activity, from marketing and origination, execution and closing.
The DCM team is responsible for addressing borrowers’ needs in terms of raising and managing capital in the debt capital markets. The client base for DCM includes corporate borrowers, financial institutions, the public sector, and sovereigns globally.
In terms of debt origination, DCM’s activity covers issuance of bonds across the capital structure, including senior and subordinated debt, covered bonds, green, sustainable, and sustainability-linked, in addition to ESG, balance sheet, capital and liability management advisory. DCM’s activity also covers transaction management advisory. We adopt a solutions-based approach to advising our clients and where relevant we collaborate closely with ratings advisory, debt solutions and derivative solutions teams to deliver a complete service to the borrower.
Your Key Contributions: The successful candidate will play a critical role in enabling the team to provide:
- Build and maintain strong, sustainable relationships with key issuer clients in Japan, including corporates and financial institutions
- Identify capital market trends and support clients in raising and managing capital in the international debt capital markets
- Provide clear, high-quality advisory services to clients
- Offer insights on macro-economic developments and their implications for clients
- Represent the DCM function in internal discussions and cross-team collaboraitons
Your main responsibilities:
- Develop well-structured, compelling, and client-focused pitch materials
- Lead the preparation of marketing documents such as market updates, peer analysis, secondary pricing, primary pricing indications and sales memorandums
- Monitor primary market developments includingrecent transactions, pipeline activity, and market commentary
- Update relevant capital markets data and maintain accuracy of internal database
- Support end-to-end transaction execution in coordination with internal partners
- Produce tailored analytical materials for clients
- Conduct regular research on new product developments and potential or existing business opportunities
